Why did you choose the UK?

The main reason I choose the UK was because it was the closest English speaking country.

Best thing about the UK?

The best thing about the UK is the friendly people. People smile when they walk pass you, holds doors open and you can always find someone to talk to, be it at the pub or at the bus stop. This is completely different from Norway, were people are more introvert and do not really communicate with strangers.

Have you found any challenges living here?

Not really.

Have there been any surprises?

Where are you living (uni accommodation / private rented)?

I am currently living in private student accommodation.

How have you financed your studies?

Mostly student loan and scholarships from the state of Norway.

Do you think your time here is worth it?

Yes, definitely! It will give me a great advantage against other applicants once I'm back home in Norway. The experience of studying abroad is highly regarded by most employers.

How have you coped with money in the UK?

The first year of my studies money was good, but due to the recent exchange rate I have to pay 3,000GBP more for tuition each year, which has forced me to budget my money. Other than that, England is relatively cheap.

What advice would you give to other students coming to the UK?

Take part in societies and/or sports! It makes it easier to meet new people, integrate into the community, understand the culture and generally have a good time! Also, living in shared accommodation "forces" you to mingle, and you are never really alone.
