Why did you choose the UK?

Because I wanted to study law and Nigeria's legal system is tailored after the English legal system.

Best thing about the UK?

The people in it. The ability to travel to other countries without sitting in the plane for 5 hours!

Have you found any challenges living here?

Yes, getting used to living with people was a challenge. I always have lived with my family.

Have there been any surprises?

Not really, I always came down to England for vacation before getting into uni.

Where are you living (uni accommodation / private rented)?

Private rented

How have you financed your studies?

My parents pay my school fees

What do you wish you had known before you arrived?

That I'm on my own. Having people round me to support me all the time changed since I came here. I wish I got used to being on my own, making decisions myself and taking initiatives without being told.

Do you think your time here is worth it?

Definitely! I've learnt invaluable lessons and had ample exposure.

How have you coped with money in the UK?

By living below my means, and saving little money at the end of each month

What advice would you give to other students coming to the UK?

Don't always get carried away by the hype of every party! Think first. Always save some money (even if it's £100) at the end of each month for rainy days. And for people like me that will come straight from Africa for uni, get used to turning off your lights! saves you some money.
